Homemade Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

Ingredients
Dough
2 ¾ cups flour
2 tbsp granulated sugar
¾ cup warm milk
3 tbsp salted butter, melted
1 tbsp instant yeast
1 large egg
Filling
3 tbsp softened butter
⅓ cup brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
Directions
Step 1
Pour the warm milk into a medium container. Add the yeast, melted butter, and sugar to the milk and set aside for 5 minutes, or until the yeast has bloomed. Pour the flour into a separate large bowl. Then, add the egg into the liquid ingredients and whisk it until well incorporated.
Step 2
Pour the liquid ingredients into the flour and stir with a spatula until a dough forms. Then, place the dough on a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes, or until it forms a smooth dough ball. Place in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean dish towel, and allow the dough to rise for about an hour, or until it doubles in size.
Step 3
Once risen, punch the dough down to release the air. Then, roll it out on a floured surface until the dough is about ¼ of an inch thick. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon. Then spread the softened butter evenly over the dough, and then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mix across the dough.
Step 4
Grease a deep rectangular baking dish (I prefer using a glass baking dish). Then cut the dough into 12 strips along the long side. Then, tightly roll the dough strips and place them into the tray. Repeat this until all the rolls are in the tray.
Step 5
Cover the pan with a clean dish towel and allow it to rise for another hour or until it has doubled in size.
Step 6
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 24–27 minutes, or until lightly browned. After baking, allow to cool for about 10 minutes before eating. Enjoy!
